The database on maritime boundaries in the EU was created in 2014 by CETMAR for the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet). It is the result of the aggregation and harmonization of datasets provided by EEA (https://www.eea.europa.eu/) and Marine Regions (http://marineregions.org/). It is updated every year and is available for viewing and download on EMODnet Human Activities web portal (https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en/human-activities). The database contains polylines representing maritime boundaries (territorial waters, bi- or multi-lateral boundaries (e.g. in the North Sea) as well as contiguous and exclusive economic zones) in the following countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, UK and third countries related to them. Each polyline has the following attributes (where available): MBLSZOTPID, LocalId, Site Name, Legal Foundation Date, Legal Foundation Document, Country, nationalLe, Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics and Type of Agreement. For the case of the Coastline database, the following attributes are included (where available): FID_Europe, Shape_Leng, Source, Shape_Le_1, Shape_Le_2.

The database on Economic Exclusive Zones (EEZ) in the EU was created in 2018 by CETMAR for the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet). It is the result of the harmonization of dataset provided by Marine Regions (http://marineregions.org/). It is updated every year and is available for viewing and download on EMODnet Human Activities web portal (https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en/human-activities). The database contains polygons representing Economic Exclusive Zones (EEZ) in the following countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and UK. Each polygon has the following attributes (where available): Territory, Country, Area_km2, Site Name, Data of established EEZ, Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics, mblsds_MBL, MBLSZOTPID and nationalLe.

The database on dumped munitions in the EU was created in 2018 by CETMAR for the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet). It is the result of the aggregation and harmonization of datasets provided by several sources. It is updated every year and is available for viewing and download on EMODnet Human Activities web portal (https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en/human-activities). The database contains points and/or (where available) polygons representing dumped munitions sites in the European sea basins. Each point or polygon has the following attributes (where available): Munition type (Conventional and/or Chemical), Munition description, Information provider, Update date and distance to coast (metres). The distance to coast (EEA coastline shapefile) has been calculated using the UTM WGS84 Zone projected coordinate system where data fall in.

The database on Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in the EU was created in 2021 by CETMAR for the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet). It is the result of the aggregation and harmonization of datasets provided by several sources. It is updated as soon a new plan is adopted by an EU member state and it is available for viewing and download on EMODnet web portal (Human Activities, https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en/human-activities). The database contains polygons, points and lines (where available) representing Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in the following countries: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Sweden. Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) database is made up of 3 types of spatial features: MSP Spatial Plan, MSP Zoning Element and MSP Supplementary Regulation. Also there is a non spatial feature called MSP Official Documentation. The distance to coast (EEA coastline shapefile) has been calculated using the UTM WGS84 Zone projected coordinate system where data fall in.

The database on offshore military areas in the EU was created in 2020 by CETMAR for the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet). It is the result of the aggregation and harmonization of datasets provided by several sources. It is updated every year and is available for viewing and download on EMODnet Human Activities web portal (https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en/human-activities). The database contains points and/or (where available) polygons representing offshore military areas in the following countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. Each polygon/point has the following attributes (where available): Country, Country_2, Country_3, Status (Active, Deactivated, Unknown, Planned), Type_1 (Firing Area, Air Force Exercise, Surface Exercise, Underwater Exercise, Mine Hunting Exercise, National Defence Area), Type_2, Type_3, Resource, Distance to coast (metres) and Area (square kilometres). The distance to coast (EEA coastline shapefile) has been calculated using the UTM WGS84 Zone projected coordinate system where data fall in.

The database on offshore Dredge dumping sites in the EU was created in 2015 by CETMAR for the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet). It is the result of the aggregation and harmonization of datasets provided by several sources. It is updated every year and is available for viewing and download on EMODnet Human Activities web portal (https://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en/human-activities).
